It was necessary to complete a top-notch project that would enhance the reputation of the artistic brands of Mr. Sidiq and Mr. Kostas. Creatnity was given the duty of developing the project in accordance with their business goals, a thorough explanation of the service, and the brand image they wished to convey to the audience.
The basic values and characteristics of the brand were the main factors to be taken into account during the design process. The alignment of the customer’s perspective with the point of view was the initial objective. A mood map that emphasized the most crucial aspects of the brand was made with the assistance of the customers.
The logo had the most significant role in the project’s aesthetic development. The general visual style is simple and flat, with a design that leans toward a deep red and light yellow color scheme. A symmetrical pattern that matches the outline of the “E” string appears at the start of the signal. The letter “E,” which stands for “Steady Upward Steps,” was used to create a sign that looks like a set of steps. To ensure that it was design-neutral, this was carefully done. An ideal overall picture is produced by lines, symbols, and characters having a consistent thickness throughout. The signal is finally accepted by literacy. With the intention of being as light, clear, and simple to read as possible, the typeface is contemporary, bold, uppercase, and mostly created from scratch.
The album design follows the same rationale as the logo. The beautiful and comprehensive design serves to best display the customers’ professional profiles. The album’s cover, its interior pages, the printed book, the CD, and its back cover all have the same design. The illustration through pictures and text with a more graphic depiction was sought after rather to using third-party graphics.
With their debut album, Steps, violinist Layth Sidiq and laouto musician Vasilis Kostas combine elements of Arabic, modern improvisation, and Greek traditional music. The repertoire is made up of unique songs that explore the musical connections between those two cultures and broaden the potential of a pair. The duo aspires to experiment with new structures, push musical limits, and recreate the current repertoire for the audience to enjoy, from the Tigris River to the highlands of Epirus, Greece.
The duo, which combines various sounds and approaches, has performed in prestigious concert halls and academic institutions over the past six years, including WOMEX, the ADEM festival, Tufts University, Berklee College of Music, the Montreal Jazz Festival, and Carnegie Hall. The goal of this record is to serve as an example for other collaborative projects that emphasize friendship, respect, and the idea of improvisatory experimentation, which pushes tradition into uncharted territory.
The record will shortly be made available via Universal Music MENA.
